ISP Service Award

This award is to acknowledge high school students for their service to the community. This is established to recognize the important contributions teens are making within their communities through service and civic engagement.

Eligibility:

  • be in grades 9-12
  • be a legal resident of any U.S. state and an active student of AP Academy or ISP
  • have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the 12 months prior to the date of the application
  • The service must be unpaid volunteer work that benefits others in the local or global community
  • Ineligible service:The following are not eligible: paid work, financial donations, religious instruction or worship, political lobbying, and service for family members.  Court-ordered community service is also not eligible.
  • Promotional and incentive hours are not accepted:
  • e.g.
  • “Earn two additional hours if you sign up by this deadline”, “Earn five additional hours if you bring a friend to volunteer”, or “Earn double-the-hours if you work on Sunday.”
  • All community service activities and hours must be entered in the Activity Log and must be approved by  either director, Kim Downey or Tasha Chang.
