A Little Yellow Basket of Kindness

Whether or not a family celebrates Easter, children love Easter baskets. These beautiful spring baskets with candy and toys for little ones to enjoy. Just as during Christmastime, there are many kids who don’t have family or family resources to receive these pastel baskets and toys for Easter. For March we would like to start off this season with playdates making baskets for kids in need.

IDEA BOX

1. Ask your school, girl scout troop, team sport, neighbors if they want to do a service day.

2. For pup ages, have a playdate with a quick egg hunt then come in and explain how you want to bring baskets to kids who maybe don’t have a home to do an egg hunt

3. For Ninjas and Jr. Ambassadors, “egg” some friends’ homes with plastic eggs in their yard and an invitation to help others at a small get together and ask them to bring one of the items to help.

4. Gather the family to color some eggs and do a charitable act assembling baskets one afternoon and make Easter even more memorable.

Reflection Questions:

1. What’s your favorite thing about Easter
2. How would you feel if you didn’t get to do these things (ie, egg hunt, color eggs, receive a basket)
3. What do you think a “needy” child is or what that means?
4. Why do you think it is important to remember others less fortunate especially on holidays?
5. How do you think it would feel to be remembered by a stranger
6. How does it feel to give a beautiful basket to someone
7. What was fun about doing this? What other things can we do for others for other holidays?
