Everyone at some point loses someone they love.

It is a fact of life that we all must face. Young, old, expected or unexpected, no one escapes feeling a great loss at some point.

Be it a parent, a child, grandparent, close friend, or even pet, no one is immune in life. Because we have feelings and because we care deeply for others, we also have loss.

This month we are doing an event with Operation Warm Wishes called #SomethingSpecial. If you are local to OC you can come and join us while we make stuffed toys and dedicate them to those who have experienced a significant loss, dedicate a video to them with a QR code, wrap them up and send them off to someone you know. We are also making extra to give to kids we don’t know who live in shelters, orphanages or just need an extra boost to help keep them from going on the streets during this misfortune. If you can’t be a part of this event we have broken down what you can do for others either with the stuffed toys or in your own special way.

This month we are doing #SomethingSpecial for others who need a hug and a whole lotta love

Items Needed:

1. Either new or slightly used stuffed toy (teddy bear sized or a teddy)
2. Ribbons
3. Cellophane wrap
4. Either a homemade card or printer and QR code
5. The person or list of people who needs to receive your well wishes

How to do this month’s challenge:

1. Decide who you want to receive your message of hope or love.
2. Take your stuffed toy, put a ribbon of choice around its’ neck
3. Place an oversized tag on your ribbon or make a card and attach with a personal note (or use the QR code on this card or tag)
4. Wrap in cellophane wrap with a ribbon. Feel free to put confetti or other fun colors in the wrap to make your recipient feel warm and happy when receiving it with lots of colors, etc.
5. Either drop off to your recipient or you can mail the stuffed toy. If you mail be sure to decorate your box in fun colors as well!
